ADA -- Senior Cenzie Yoder and juniorJordan Kimes each posted double-doubles as the No. 21 Ohio Northern women's basketball team advanced to the OAC Tournament Semifinals with a 49-32 win over Mount Union on Tuesday evening.
The Polar Bears push their win streak to 10 games and move to 22-4 on the season, while the Purple Raiders see their season end at 14-13.
Northern, seeded third, will now play at No. 18-ranked and second seed John Carroll on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm.
Kimes finished the night with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Yoder scored 10 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and dished out five assists.
Northern used a 5-0 spurt, capped off by a 3-pointer by senior Sara Kocian, to open up a 15-9 lead.
A basket by Kimes just before the horn gave the Polar Bears a 24-15 advantage at halftime.
ONU used a 11-0 run midway through the second half to open up a 37-18 lead with 9:40 to play.
A basket by Yoder with 5:18 to play expanded the ONU lead to 42-22.
The basket was also the 471st made field goal of her career, which is now a program record.
"I thought we played really good defense," said head coach Michele Durand. "They shoot a lot of three's and I thought we did a really good of stopping it."
The Polar Bears finished the game 21-of-57 (36.8 percent) from the field, while Mount Union shot 11-of-53 (20.8 percent).
Northern won the rebounding battle 41-37 and also outscored the Purple Raiders 34-10 in the paint.
