Fisher jumped out to an early lead and never turned back, going up by as much as 19 points throughout the opening half. The Falcons lead jumped to double-digits at the 11:21 mark on a three-pointer by Javana Bernard, who led the first half with 14 points, while going 5-9 from the floor.

The Terriers came out with determination in the second stanza, cutting the Fisher lead to as close as three points at 7:56 on a jumper by Ashleigh Gagne. Thomas, who started chipping away at the deficit seconds into the half, went on a 10-0 run at 10:14 to pull the game within reach.

Unfortunately for the Red and Black, three costly turnovers in the closing minutes would end the attempt at a thrilling comeback victory, as a layup by Porsha Grayson with .26 seconds gave the Falcons a two-score advantage.

Katie McAllister helped the hosts with 11 points, while Gagne added eight points in the loss.

Bernard ended with a game-high 18 points, while Christine Briggs contributed with 11 points and 13 caroms for the Falcons in the winning effort.

Overall, Thomas shot 32.2% (19-59) from the floor, while Fisher shot 30% (18-60) from the hardwood. The Falcons held a slim advantage in rebounds, 44-42, and a 15-9 edge in points off turnovers.

Thomas will be on the road this weekend, travelling to Vermont for conference contests. On Friday the Terriers will square off against Johnson State, then take on Lyndon State on Saturday.
