(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - Sophomore guard/forward Sydney Moss (St. Albans, W.Va./Boone County (Ky.)) recorded her ninth double-double of the season and the fifth-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team defeated Westminster College, 96-32, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the win, the Saints remain undefeated at 22-0 overall and 15-0 in the PAC. With the loss, the Titans fall to 12-10 overall and 9-6 in the PAC.
Thomas More shot 50 percent from the field (22-of-44) from the field and forced 22 Titan turnovers in the first half to build a 52-13 lead at halftime. In the first half, the Saints out-scored the Titans 28-6 in the paint, 29-4 off turnovers and 18-4 on second chances. Junior forward Jenny Burgoyne (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) led the team in scoring at the half as she had 17 points, while Moss added 16 points, seven rebounds and eight assists.
The Saints out-scored Westminster 44-19 in the second half as it won the game, 96-32. Thomas More recorded 17 steals in the game as it forced 34 Westminster turnovers in the game.
In recording her ninth double-doubles, Moss just missed a triple-double as she finished the team with 28 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. Joining her in double-figure scoring was Burgoyne with 21 points and sophomore forward Alexa Santamaria (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) with 12 points. Junior guard Sydni Wainscott (Erlanger, Ky./Simon Kenton) just missed double-figures with nine points and added seven assists. Sophomore guard Olivia Huber (Woodlawn, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) led the team in steals with six.
Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (February 15) as it travels to Greenville, Pennsylvania to play Thiel College. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Beeghly Gymnasium.
