The first half saw both team going back and forth, with seven different lead changes. The Terriers started off quick with an 8-2 run, but Lyndon was able to hold off the Terrier attack and catch up midway through the opening half. The Hornets took their first lead of the night at the 10:42 mark, when Chelsea Watson hit three consecutive three-pointers. Thomas' largest lead came at the 12:49 mark, when they were up by eight points.
Merrifield had a team-high 10 points in the first period, going 4-9 from the floor. Emilee Reynolds chipped in with eight points and a game-leading nine rebounds.
Emily Gray had a first half leading 12 points, while Watson had nine points from her shots from beyond the arc.
The second half was much of the same, with Lyndon leading by as much as seven at the 17:51 mark. The Hornets held on to the lead for the majority of the closing half, with Thomas not gaining the momentum until 9:52 on a layup by Merrifield. When Emilee Reynolds made both of her free throws at 3:32, the Terriers took the lead and ran with it for the 77-62 victory.
Reynolds tied her season-high 19 points, while caroming a career-high 14 rebounds. Ashleigh Gagne gad seven points and 12 boards in the winning effort.
Watson had a team-leading 16 points for Lyndon, while Gray added 14 points off the bench.
Thomas held an astonishing 61-35 advantage in rebounds, while shooting 40.6% (26-64) from the field.
Thomas will return to the hardwood tomorrow as they host conference foe Johnson State at 3pm. The Terriers went 2-0 against the Badgers last season, winning 67-66 on the road, and 70-55 in Waterville.
