GENESEO, N.Y. - Geneseo junior forward Shannon McGinnis scored a game-high 17 points while sophomore center Allison McKenna added 14 points to lead the Knights past Brockport, 59-43, in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's basketball, Tuesday.

Ten days after holding the Golden Eagles to 26 points and a .189 shooting percentage in a 71-26 road victory, the Geneseo defense was once again the story, limiting the Golden Eagles to under 30 percent from the field.

A McGinnis layup would stake the Knights (14-6, 8-5 SUNYAC) to a 13-5 lead with 11:38 on the first-half clock, before a McKenna layup would maintain the eight-point lead, 22-14, with 5:27 showing as Geneseo carried a six-point edge, 32-26, into intermission.

A 15-4 run over the opening 10 minutes of the second half helped the Knights' grow their largest lead to 17, 47-30, and put the game out of reach. The Golden Eagles (8-12, 4-9 SUNYAC) could only muster seven second-half field goals on 29 attempts, while the Knights used a 27-17 rebounding advantage to put the game away, finishing with a 41-31 edge on the boards overall.

Geneseo plays a pair of SUNYAC contests on the road this weekend, taking on Fredonia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, and Buffalo State at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
