WINCHESTER, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's basketball team improved their 2013-14 ODAC record to 10-3 as they downed Shenandoah University 86-77 in Shingleton Gymnasium.

The Yellow Jackets (17-5, 10-3 ODAC) took the early advantage over Shenandoah as the Hornets came within two points with less than seven minutes left in the period. R-MC would follow with an 11-3 run in two minutes to advance their lead to ten points. The Jackets continued their momentum to hold the 42-29 edge at intermission.

Sarah Parsons (Glen Allen, VA / J.R. Tucker) and Stephanie Staples (Mechanicsville, VA / Atlee) recorded a combined 20 points in the half for R-MC. Staples shot 4-of-5 from the field while Parsons was 3-of-7 with two three pointers. R-MC made close to twice as many of their shots, shooting 43.8% over SU's 26.5%.

Shenandoah began the second stanza with a 23-14 run over R-MC to cut the Jackets' lead to just four at 56-52 with 10 minutes remaining in the contest. SU would outshoot the Jackets 52.6% to 38.9% in the second period. R-MC would use the remaining minutes, however, to secure the insurance for the 86-77 victory.

12 of the final 30 Yellow Jackets points were recorded by Taylor Huber (Ashland, VA / Patrick Henry) who finished the day with 24 points, two assists, and six boards. Parsons led all scorers with 25 points, two assists, six rebounds, and four steals. Katie Anderson (Beaverdam, VA / Patrick Henry) notched her eleventh double-double on 14 points, pulling down 12 boards.
