Four Jackets in Double Figures in 83-71 Win Over Hollins

ROANOKE, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's basketball had four Yellow Jackets in double figures as the topped Hollins University 83-71 this afternoon in ODAC women's basketball.

Hollins (6-15, 1-11 ODAC) took the early 12-8 lead before R-MC (16-5, 9-3 ODAC) went on a 12-9 run initiated by a Katie Anderson (Beaverdam, VA / Patrick Henry) free throw to eventually take the 22-21 edge. Despite being outshot 43.3% to 27.0% from the field, the Yellow Jackets would maintain that lead for the remainder of the half, ahead 34-29 at intermission.

HU would continue to outshoot R-MC in the second stanza, but turned the ball over a total of 13 more times. The Jackets were 19-25 from the line, scoring 10 more free throws than Hollins and twice as many three pointers. Sarah Parsons (Glen Allen, VA / J.R. Tucker) recorded a game-high 16 points shooting 4-9 from the field and a perfect 7-7 from the stripe. She also picked up 4 rebounds. Taylor Huber (Ashland, VA / Patrick Henry) added 11 points, two assists, and two steals. Anderson and Hannah Livermon (Powhatan, VA / Powhatan) both finished with 10 points. Anderson tallied five rebounds, three assists, and one block while Livermon picked up two boards.

The Randolph-Macon women's basketball team travels to Shenandoah Tuesday, February 11th for a 7:00 pm ODAC tipoff. The Yellow Jackets return to Ashland Saturday, February 15th as they host Guilford College for their annual Pink Day.
