Titans lead wire-to-wire to defeat Muskies

The Lakeland College women's basketball team shot 34.1% for the game and never led in a 59-41 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Tuesday night in a non-conference game at the Kolf Sports Center.

The Titans dominated inside, out-rebounding the Muskies 42-22 and improving to 6-0 this season. UW-Oshkosh also won for the second straight year over Lakeland, which dropped to 1-2.

Oshkosh jumped out to an 18-3 lead just over eight minutes into the game, and the Muskies never got closer than 11 points again. The Titans led 34-16 at halftime and led by as many as 26 in the second half.

Leah Eisner (Sr.-Stevens Point, Wis.) led Lakeland with game highs of 14 points and five steals and also led the team with five rebounds. Lexie Greenheck (So.-Oostburg, Wis.) added eight points and three rebounds off the bench. The Muskies made 15 of 44 shots from the field and shot just 2-for-16 from three-point range.

Katelyn Kuehl led the Titans with 13 points, while Sarah Stecker added 11 points and 11 rebounds. UWO hit 40.0% of its shots (20 of 50) and also was 17 of 25 from the free throw line.

Lakeland is back in action on Saturday when it faces Concordia University Chicago in its Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference opener at 4 p.m. at Woltzen Gymnasium.
