William Paterson Women’s Basketball Rolls Past Rowan, 78-46

GLASSBORO, N.J. – A 44-11 advantage in points scored off turnovers helped William Paterson (11-9, 8-5 NJAC) roll to a 78-46 women's basketball victory at Rowan (5-15, 4-9 NJAC) Feb. 1.

 

Senior guard Floriana Borova (Cresskill, N.J./Cresskill) posted a double-double with game bests of 25 points and 10 assists, adding six steals. Freshmen forwards Maya Harris (Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield) and Ariana Gomez (Garfield, N.J./Garfield) each scored 12 tallies.

 

Ahead by a 35-28 count at halftime, the Pioneers used a 24-4 run midway through the second half to take a commanding 67-39 lead with 5:44 to play. WP forced 38 Prof turnovers compared to just 14 themselves, and shot 40.7 (33-81) percent from the field while limiting Rowan to a 16-for-49 (.327) effort.

 

Sophomore Kaitlin Schullstrom was the only Prof in double figures with 10 points. Classmate Kate Matthews had eight tallies and 10 rebounds.

 

William Paterson will host Rutgers-Newark Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 8:00 p.m.
