ADA -- Senior Cenzie Yoder scored a season-high 25 points to lead the No. 24 Ohio Northern women's basketball team past Baldwin Wallace 60-55 on Wednesday evening at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears improve their record to 14-4 on the season and 7-4 in OAC play, while Yellow Jackets fall to 13-5, 8-3.

Yoder also pulled down eight rebounds in the game.

Junior Jordan Kimes recorded her second straight and seventh double-double of the season, scoring 12 points and pulling down a game high 11 boards.

Lexi Rohrbach led BW with 12 points and eight rebounds.

ONU founds themselves in a hole, trailing by as many as 12 in the first half at 23-11 with 9:03 left to play.

The Polar Bears went on an 11-5 run to end the half, but still found themselves down 28-22 at the break.

A free throw from sophomore Brooke Espenschied would tie the game at 43-43, with just over eight minutes remaining.

After trading the lead on the next few possessions, Kimes would hit a layup to make the score 50-49 with 5:38 remaining.

The Polar Bears would hold the lead and a layup from Yoder with 1:28 remaining made it 58-54.

Two free throws from Espenschied with 16 seconds left put the game away.

"I thought we hung in there all night," said head coach Michele Durand. "We forced them into taking some very tough shots and got a great game from Cenzie."

ONU shot 39.6 percent on 21-of-53 from the field (39.6 percent) and went 17-of-22 (77.3 percent) in free throws.

The Yellow Jackets went 20-of-69 (29.0 percent) in shooting and were 11-of-20 (55.0 percent) from the line.

Ohio Northern held a slim 46-43 lead in the rebounding battle.

The Polar Bears will be back at it this Saturday as they host Marietta in their annual "Hoops for Hope" game at 3 pm at the ONU Sports Center.

The alumni game will also take place before the contest, with tipoff scheduled for noon.
