Farmingdale, N.Y. - After trailing by one at halftime, Farmingdale State outscored NYU-Poly 40-19 in the second half to earn a 61-41 conference win this evening in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams improved to 9-7 on the year and 6-1 in Skyline play after winning their fourth straight game.

Farmingdale State held an 18-5 lead with 7:39 remaining in the first half, until the Fighting Blue Jays (2-14, 0-6) used an 11-0 run that featured three straight 3's by Alyssa D'Apice (Carmel, N.Y.) to close within two. After a Charnae Jenkins (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) 3-pointer for the Rams, NYU-Poly closed the half with back-to-back 3's to take a 22-21 advantage into the break.

Tied 26-26 early in the second half, a 21-5 Farmingdale State run quickly put the Rams ahead 47-31 with 8:16 left to play. Farmingdale State held a double-digit lead the remainder of the way to earn the victory.

Junior guard Camille Romero (Queens, N.Y.) scored a game-high 18 points and added four assists, while senior forward Lushanta Savadel (Bellport, N.Y.) scored six points and had 14 rebounds for the Rams.

D'Apice led the way for the Fighting Blue Jays with 14 points and a game-high eight assists.

Farmingdale State next will host Old Westbury in a Skyline Conference game on Thursday, January 30th at 6:00 p.m.
