Beavers Fall in Final Pre-Holiday Contest

PASADENA, CA – In their final game before the holiday break the Caltech women's basketball team dropped a 66-39 decision to Northern New Mexico on Tuesday evening.

A solid defense aided in the Eagles win as they forced Caltech into 25 turnovers. The visitors held a 27-4 edge in points off of turnovers.

After a back-and-forth opening few minutes, Northern New Mexico started to pull away and never looked. With Caltech holding an 8-7 early lead, the Eagles scored 13 straight points. They never let the Beavers within single digits the rest of the game.

In the first ever meeting between the two schools the Eagles spread their offense around as 10 different players found their way into the scoring column. Leading the way for the visitors was Amber Tso 12-point effort off the bench. Travana Johnson contributed a double-double with an 11-point, 10-rebound evening.

Bridget Connor led the Caltech scoring charge for the second straight evening. The junior tallied nine points in 28 minutes. She also tallied a team best seven rebounds.
