OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury used an 83-71 Skyline Conference victory at home Saturday afternoon to defeat the first place Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins inside Clark Athletic Center.  Old Westbury improves to 4-9 on the season and 2-0 in conference play while sending the Dolphins to 6-3 and 1-1, respectively. 

In an opening half that featured eight lead changes, Jasmine Robinson dropped in the games first points to break the scoring ice for Old Westbury.  Moments later, Old Westbury took a 6-2 lead before Mount Saint Vincent answered with an 11-4 run from 15:57 to 10:26 to hold its largest lead of the game, 13-10.  Old Westbury outscored the Dolphins 27-16 over the final 10:26 of the half to take a 37-29 advantage into the break. 

Robinson once again scored the opening points of the half with a layup to put Old Westbury up 39-29.  Mount Saint Vincent replied with a 9-0 run to make it a one point game.  Old Westbury maintained the lead throughout the half and created separation late with a 15-4 run from 4:44 to 1:03 to go up 15 points. 

DeAndra Scott led the way with a season-high 32 points to go along with 12 rebounds, four blocks (career-high) and two steals in recording her 10th double-double of the season.  Robinson followed with a career-best 26 points in addition to recording five steals and five rebounds.  Raven Pentz added 14 points while Nikki Alexander chipped in with a career-high 11 rebounds before fouling out. 

Brittany Lee paced the Dolphins with 17 points while pulling down 11 rebounds.  Brittany Carroll followed with 16 points and Theresa Carey added 12 while Kelly Fraser grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds. 

Old Westbury shot 39.7 percent from the field (27-68), 30.8 percent from three-point territory (4-13) and 69.4 percent from the free-throw line (25-36) while Mount Saint Vincent connected on 29.6 percent from the floor (24-81), 30.8 percent from beyond the arc (8-26) and 57.7 percent from the charity stripe (15-26).  Old Westbury won the boards battle, 48-46, while outscoring the Dolphins in the paint, 44-26.  Old Westbury converted 26 Mount Saint Vincent miscues into 31 points.     



ST. JOSEPH'S-LONG ISLAND GOLDEN EAGLES UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury continues play in conference action on Wednesday (January 15) when they hit the road for a Skyline Conference battle with the St. Joseph's-L.I. Golden Eagles in Patchogue, New York.  Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. from Danzi Center.
