La Roche Extends Home Win-Streak to Sixteen With Win Over D'Youville

PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche women's basketball (9-0, 4-0) defeated D'Youville College (3-6, 1-1) 81-37 to stay perfect and extend their home win-streak to sixteen games.

The Lady Redhawks forced 14 turnovers and held the Spartans scoreless from beyond the arc to jump out to a 36-19 first half lead.

LaShauna Brothers, Mackenzie O'Donnell, and Shataya White scored 6 points apiece to lead La Roche while O'Donnell and Sabrina McLin notched 5 rebounds each. McLin and Macey Pekala each had 2 steals.

The Lady Redhawks extended their lead in the second half by dominating the paint. They outscored D'Youville in the paint by 22 and on second chance points by 18 in the second half.

McDonnell finished with a game-high 17 points and added 11 rebounds to record the double-double. Danasha Harris had a strong game and registered 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 steals while White netted 13 points. Brothers and Gloria Schifino both reached double figures with 13 and 11 points respectively.

The Lady Redhawks outrebounded D'Youville 50-29 and forced 29 Spartan turnovers. They also outscored them off of turnovers (29-10), in the paint (46-22), and on second chance points (27-3).

La Roche women's basketball will host Point Park on Tuesday and Waynesburg on Thursday.
