Moravian Defense Too Much For Cyclones

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Centenary College was held to just 23 percent shooting as the Cyclones fell at Moravian 78-49 in non-conference women's basketball action on Monday night.
 
The Cyclones (4-4) connected on just 14-of-61 field-goal attempts, compared to 42 percent shooting (29-69) for the Greyhounds. Moravian also collected a single-game, school record 22 blocked shots.
 
Freshman forward Mallory George (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) was the lone Cyclone to reach double figures, scoring 13 points, while senior Klarissa Perry (Englewood, N.J./Dwight Morrow) and freshman Jessie Sharr (Belvidere, N.J./Belvidere) both added nine.
 
Moravian scored seven of the game's first nine points and never looked back, leading by as many as 24 points before junior Kimberly Osieja's (Mountainside, N.J./Governor Livingston) drained a jumper with five seconds remaining in the opening half to bring the score to 39-17.
 
The Greyhounds led by more than 20 points during the entire second half en route to their seventh victory in eight games this season.
 
Sharr grabbed a team-high eight boards and tallied three steals, while freshman Melissa Rabe (Byram, N.J./Lenape Valley) added six points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
 
Laura Jordan led Moravian with 10 points, nine rebounds and six blocks. In all, 13 Greyhounds got into the scoring column.
 
Centenary continues its three-game road trip at New Jersey City University on Saturday, December 21.
