Baruch Runs Past John Jay (81-56)

The Baruch College Bearcats recorded their 24th straight home win by defeating John Jay College of Criminal Justice, 81-56, on Friday night in the ARC Arena.

The visiting Bloodhounds stormed out of the gate early with a 9-2 lead and later led 22-16 with 9:13 left in the opening half.

The Bearcats never lost their composure and rallied with six straight points with a Sheridan Taylor driving layup tying the contest (22-22) for the first time.

The Bearcats took control the rest of the way with an Iyana Abrams jumper building the lead up to 41-35 at halftime.

They started the second half, just as quickly as they ended the first, on fire with Francess Henry nailing a 3-pointer and Alicea Ulmer scoring on a layup to go ahead 46-35.

John Jay could not keep up as the Bearcats won to raise their season conference record to 2-0.

Six different players scored at least eight points as part of a balanced attack this evening.

Ulmer finished in double-figures with 18 points and seven rebounds. Ashika Kuruvilla totaled a career-high nine rebounds

Baruch will continue their CUNYAC schedule next Tuesday, December 10 with a 5:00 pm road contest uptown at CCNY.
