Five Giants Reach Double-Figures in Keystone's Win at Baptist Bible

Clarks Summit, PA – AAliya Hayes (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) recorded 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead five Keystone College players in double-figures in the Giants' 100-55 victory at Baptist Bible College in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball action on Wednesday night.  Ashley Evans (Wooster, OH/Wooster) (20), Jazmyn Robinson (Hyattsville, MD/Northwestern) (18), Chantel Blake (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) (15), and Alyssa Cuomo (Odessa, DE/Hodgson Vo-tech) (12) also scored double-digit points for the Giants, who scored at least 100 points for the second time this season while improving to 4-1 on the year and 2-0 in conference play.
 
Leading 15-10 just under five minutes into Wednesday night's contest, Keystone rattled off seven unanswered points to stretch their advantage to 22-10 with 12:46 remaining in the first half after Cuomo connected on a three-pointer.  Baptist Bible (0-3, 0-1 CSAC) narrowed their deficit to nine points at 27-18 with 9:23 left on the clock, but the Giants went on a 17-0 run to hold a 44-18 lead with just over five minutes remaining in the period. 
 
Keystone would go on to hold a 52-28 lead at halftime after shooting a blazing, 54.5 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes of play including a 5-8 effort from beyond the arc.  Robinson led the Giants with 13 first half points, Blake netted 12 points in the stanza, and Cuomo, Evans, and Hayes each chipped in with nine points in the period.
 
Carissa Erdman led Baptist Bible's offense with 10 points in the first half while Megan Erdman and Maeghin Mueller added eight points apiece for the Defenders, who shot 37 percent from the floor in the period.
 
Keystone opened the second half with a 19-6 run to hold a commanding, 71-34 lead with 15 minutes to play and would hold an 82-41 advantage midway through the period and would go on to reach the century mark for the second time in five games this season.
 
Hayes's game-high 22 points came on 8-13 shooting from the floor and a perfect, 6-6 effort from the free throw line.  The freshman also added 14 rebounds, including 10 defensive boards, to record her second double-double of the season.  Evans went 9-11 from the field to finish with 20 points while Robinson added game-highs of eight assists and seven steals to her 18-point night.  Blake had 15 points and four steals while Cuomo closed the contest with 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
 
For the game, Keystone connected on 52.7 percent of their field goal attempts including a 7-14 effort from three-point range.  The Giants also went 15-20 from the free throw line for the contest.
 
Mueller finished with a game-high 30 points and added 12 rebounds to lead Baptist Bible, who shot 35.7 percent from the floor for the game while going 20-28 from the free throw line in the contest.  Wagner added 14 points while Erdman chipped in 13 points in the loss. 
 
Keystone returns to the hardwood on Saturday afternoon when they host Notre Dame of Maryland University in a CSAC game scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in the Gambal Athletic Center in La Plume.
