Medaille Women Fall in AMCC Semifinals

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Medaille College women's basketball team saw its hopes of a sixth AMCC title game appearance come to an end this evening with a disappointing (60-52) loss to Penn State-Behrend this evening on the campus of La Roche College in the second conference semifinal game of the night.

In a game that saw Penn State-Behrend lead by as many as (18) points and control most facets of play, the Lady Mavs still had a chance down the stretch but would be unable to overcome a stronger shooting Lion squad.  For the night the Lady Mavs only managed to connect on (31.5%) of their field goal chances, while Behrend shot at a (37.7%) clip.  That differential was considerably larger from beyond the arc as Medaille finished at (23.1%) as opposed to (38.5%) by the Lions.

In the loss the Lady Mavs were led by junior Joelle Pollak who posted (18) points, (5) assists and (3) steals.   Senior Brittney Rowland chipped in with (14) points and (3) assists, while Morgan Howe posted a (10) point, (4) assist, and (2) block evening as well.  Sophomore Alicia Montalvo pulled down a team high (6) rebounds and Tara Caples blocked a game high (3) shots.

The loss leaves Medaille at (16-10) and they will await a potential ECAC Tournament bid which will be announced late Monday afternoon (2/24).
