HAMBURG, NY – La Roche women's basketball (22-2, 17-1) cruised to their tenth consecutive win with a 74-46 victory over Hilbert College (3-22, 1-17) in their season-finale. The win ties a school-record for most conference victories in a season and marks just the third time the Lady Redhawks have reached a double digit win-streak.

"We closed out the season on a high note," said Coach Gissendanner. "We were able to get everybody some valuable playing time and had a great team win."

La Roche jumped out to a 40-22 halftime lead thanks to hot shooting (52%) and a tough full court press that forced twenty-one first half turnovers. LaShauna Brothers finished with 11 first half points and Jessica Pitts grabbed 8 boards.

The Lady Redhawks continued to roll in the second half and held Hilbert to 28% from the field. Casie Cygan paced La Roche with 20 second half points.

Cygan led all scorers with 27 points and added 5 steals and 4 assists. Pitts finished one bucket short of a double-double with 9 points, 14 rebounds, 8 assists, and 7 steals. Brothers finished with 12 points and 8 boards and Amanda Garland chipped in 12 points.

La Roche assisted on 25 of 29 field goals and forced 39 turnovers on 23 steals. They also outscored Hilbert 40-5 off turnovers and held them to just 28% shooting from the floor.

The Lady Redhawks will host the AMCC Conference Tournament for the third consecutive season.

"The postseason is a new season so we must get back to work early next week. We're still hungry to win the conference championship."

The AMCC Tournament Quarterfinals will commence on Tuesday before moving to La Roche next Saturday and Sunday for the Championship Round. The Lady Redhawks will play the winner of the Mt. Aloysius vs. Pitt-Bradford game (February 19) on Friday, February 22, at 6:00PM.
