POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's basketball team (17-7, 11-6 SUNYAC) utilized a big run at the beginning of the second half to pull away from host Potsdam (1-23, 0-17 SUNYAC) in a 70-47 win on Friday night. The win clinched the No. 3 seed in the SUNYAC Tournament for the Lakers, who have not hosted a postseason game since 2006-07.

The Lakers turned a 37-24 halftime lead into a 23-point margin with a 14-4 run to start the second period. Lauren Nunziato (Jr., West Sand Lake, N.Y.) nailed two three-pointers during the stretch as part of her 11 points in the game.

It was three-point shooting that once again got Oswego State's offense going, as the Lakers hit six three-pointers in the first half. The Lakers thwarted any comeback attempt by the Bears with shots from downtown.

The Lakers continued to build their lead in the second half, even with most of their back-ups in the game. The Oswego State lead grew as high as 29, as Potsdam trailed by more than 20 for most of the second half.

Paula Egelston (Jr., Fultonville, N.Y.) scored a career-high 14 points on 4-for-5 shooting in the contest. Senior Evelyn Josbena (Solvay, N.Y.) once again did a little bit of everything with seven points, 12 rebounds, three blocks and three steals. Jenn Robbins (Jr., Geneva, N.Y.) chipped in 13 points of her own, while hitting three from downtown.

The Lakers head to Plattsburgh tomorrow to compete in their final regular season game at 2 p.m.
