Frostburg, Md. – Marymount University's women's basketball team won its 10th-straight game with a 70-52 road victory over Frostburg State in its regular season finale on Wednesday night. The Saints improve to 21-4 overall and 11-1 in Capital Athletic Conference play.
With the win, the Saints clinch the outright regular season CAC title. Marymount controls home court advantage throughout the league tournament and owns a first round bye.
Three Saints scored in double-figures led by senior Tynisha Parks and freshman Aileen Maknati with 18 points each. Parks led all players with eight rebounds while Maknati chipped in five.
Senior captain Katelyn Fischer added 14 points, just missing out on a double-double with nine assists. She added five steals in the win.
Marymount outscored the Bobcats 34-22 in the paint and converted 19 FSU (6-18, 2-9 CAC) turnovers into 22 points.
The Saints continued to prove to be one of the top three-point shooting teams in NCAA Division III with a solid 42.9 percent performance from downtown.
Elaina Hummel tied a game-high with 18 points for Frostburg State.
Marymount returns to the hardwood on Thursday, February 21, as it hosts the semifinals of the CAC Tournament.
