Marymount Women’s Hoops Claims Season Sweep Over Wesley

Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's women's basketball team completed a season sweep over Wesley with a 57-28 victory in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon. The Saints improve to 16-4 overall and 6-1 in league play.


Tynisha Parks led the Saints with 18 points to go with seven rebounds and seven steals. Katelyn Fischer added 16 points with seven rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Miranda Krott pulled down 12 rebounds in the win.

Marymount dominated from the beginning, opening the game on a 13-1 run before Wesley (3-15, 0-7 CAC) made its first field goal nearly eight minutes into the game. The Saints would lead by as many as 16 in the frame and take a 25-9 lead into the break.

Coming out of halftime, MU quickly pushed its lead to 20 before the Wolverines put together a 10-2 run to pull within 12 down 31-19 with 13:05 remaining. The rest of the game was all Marymount as the Saints wrapped up the series sweep.

Heather Fuller posted a double-double in the loss for Wesley. She scored a team-high 10 points to go with 12 rebounds and nine blocked shots.
