DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Katlin Michaels scored 10 points in the final 4:45 as the senior helped visiting King's College overcome a four-point deficit and down Delaware Valley College, 61-54, in a Freedom Conference game.

The Lady Monarchs, which reached the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 last season, improved to 17-5 overall and 9-2 in the Freedom while the Aggies fell to 9-13 and 3-8.

Delaware Valley freshman Eireann Anastasi drilled a 3-pointer with just more than five minutes remaining to give the Aggies a 51-47 lead. That's when Michaels took over.  She began with a layup and then hit a trey on King's next possession for a one-point advantage. Teammate Lindsay Atchison increased the lead to three with a layup but Anastasi answered with a drive to the hoop with 2:12 remaining for a 54-53 ballgame.

The Lady Monarchs got an extra chance on their next possession thanks to an offensive rebound and Michaels hit a layup with 1:43 to go. The Aggies missed a pair of 3-point shots and Michaels was fouled with 41 seconds to go. She hit one of two chances, as did Anastasti for Delaware Valley with 26 ticks left for a 57-54 King's lead.

Celia Rader missed the front end of a one-in-one for the Lady Monarchs with 18 seconds to go, but Molly Dahl grabbed the offensive board and was then fouled. She hit both to make it a five-point game and Michaels added two more from the line with six seconds left for the seven-point win.

King's held a 26-23 lead at the break and upped it to four in the early going. Delaware Valley used a 9-2 run, including five from Anastasi and four from Emily Soper, midway through the second stanza to take a four-point lead. The squad had a pair of four-point advantage before Michaels' late-game heroics pulled it out for the Lady Monarchs.

Both teams shot under 30 percent from the field and the difference came at the line where King's was 15-for-25 while the Aggies had just 10 attempts and sank eight. Michaels shot just 5-for-22 from the field, but ended the night with 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Jennifer Fabian had 12 points and 12 boards while Rader also had 12 points. Dahl notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards.
