Green Leads Rams Past Mount Saint Vincent

Riverdale, N.Y. - Senior guard Nikita Green (Roosevelt, N.Y.) led all scorers with 20 points and added seven steals and seven assists as Farmingdale State earned a 61-40 victory at Mount Saint Vincent this afternoon.

Tied 17-17 with 7:56 remaining in the first, the Rams (9-9, 7-3) closed out the half on a 10-2 run capped off by a Green 3-pointer with three seconds left to take a 27-19 lead into the break.

The Dolphins (6-15, 0-11) quickly cut the deficit to six after halftime, but Farmingdale State answered with nine straight points to extend the lead to 15, 41-26, with 15:03 left to play.

The Rams opened up their largest lead of the game, 55-33, with 8:03 remaining after back-to-back 3's by Green and sophomore guard Nicole Lanteri (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.).

Mount Saint Vincent scored only seven points the rest of the way as Farmingdale State earned a 61-40 Skyline victory.

Sophomore guard Christina Merrill (Levittown, N.Y.) scored 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including 3-for-5 from 3-point range, while freshman guard Janiece Jenkins (Central Islip, N.Y.) had a team-high 10 boards for the Rams.

The Dolphins were led by sophomore center Kelly Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) who recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Farmingdale State next will host St. Joseph's in a conference game on Wednesday, February 6th at 6:00 p.m.
