NEW LONDON, N.H. -- Colby-Sawyer women's basketball pushed its win streak to 13 games after a 70-53 North Atlantic Conference win over the University of Maine at Farmington, Friday night at Coffin Field House.  

Colby-Sawyer improves to 16-4 overall and remains perfect in NAC play at 13-0. UMaine-Farmington falls to 6-13 overall and 6-7 in the conference.

Colby-Sawyer's Taylor DeSanty led all scorers with 22 points. Kelsey Cahill filled the stat sheet with nine points, a game-high 12 rebounds, a career-high five blocks and four steals. Cailin Bullett also reached double-figures with 12 points.

UMF freshman Ayla Allen (Rumford, Maine/Mountain Valley) and senior Rachel Clement (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) each scored 10 points to lead the Beavers. The team's leading scorer, senior Kenni Norton (Strong, Maine/Mt. Abram), had eight points.

The first half, which featured eight lead changes and five ties, was back and forth throughout. Colby-Sawyer held the largest first half margin of eight, after a pair of Cahill free throws ended a 7-0 spurt for a 33-25 lead. UMF was able to close the gap with the last basket of the frame on a Clement layup. The Beavers, who trailed 34-32 at the half, had a 14-9 edge in bench scoring and a 10-6 advantage in the paint. DeSanty scored 15 of her 22 points in the first.

Colby-Sawyer slowly pulled away in the second half outscoring the Beavers 19-4 over the first 10 minutes. UMF could not get closer than 12 points for the remainder of the game as the Chargers defense held the Beavers to 31% shooting in the second. 

UMF will travel to New England College for a 3:00 pm game on Saturday. Colby-Sawyer will host Thomas College on Saturday with a 3:00 pm tip.
