BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Senior Beth Suggs (Bath, Maine) scored 23 points, as the University of New England women's basketball team won its 11th straight game with a 75-46 decision over Gordon College in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Harold Alfond Forum Thursday (Jan. 31) evening.

The Nor'easters, who have won 20 straight CCC regular-season contests dating back to Jan. 28, 2012, improve to 16-4 overall (13-0 CCC this season). UNE has been victorious in the last 12 meetings with Gordon.

Suggs racked up her 23 points to go with six rebounds in just 26 minutes of floor time. She now stands 24 points shy of the 1,000-point mark for her career.

Sophomore Kelly Coleman (Portland, Conn.) came off the bench to score 13 points on 6-for-9 shooting, while first-year guard Alanna Vose (Cushing, Maine) tallied 12 points and three assists. Rookie point guard Meghan Gribbin (Windham, Maine) had eight points and a season-best nine assists.

Sophomore Brooke Kratche (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) led the visiting Fighting Scots with 16 points to go with four steals. Junior Skylar Bareford (Stonington, Conn.) contributed eight points, and junior Lauren Kranyak (Locust Grove, Va.) added seven points and six boards.

Big Blue led wire-to-wire, breaking out to a 18-7 lead after eight minutes of action and never leading by less than double digits the rest of the way. Suggs scored 10 points during that time.

UNE forced 17 first-half turnovers while committing just three to lead 39-24 at the break.

The Nor'easters would score 20 of the opening 25 points of the second half to put the game out of reach. Their lead hit a high-water mark of 34 (68-34) with 5:44 remaining.

Big Blue received 23 points from the bench and held a 36-12 advantage in points in the paint. Gordon shot a respectable 41.9 percent (18 of 43) for the contest, but was hampered by 27 miscues.

UNE heads to Bristol, R.I. on Saturday for a showdown with second-place Roger Williams University (1 p.m.). The Nor'easters defeated the Hawks, 74-53, in Biddeford back on Jan. 5.
