JAMAICA, N.Y.— The Baruch College Bearcats, who lead the CUNY Athletic Conference with an unblemished conference record, showed why they sit atop the standings, as they topped the York College women's basketball team by a score of 87-45 on Wednesday night at the York College Gymnasium.

Baruch got off to a fast start, scoring 18 points in less than five minutes of action.  Jessica Duleba, who eclipsed 1,000 points for her career in the game, led the early run, scoring seven of those points.   Baruch continued to pour it on throughout the first half, extending its lead to 29-10 with just over ten minutes into the contest and went into the half leading 49-18.  They controlled all aspects of play in the first half of action, shooting 58 percent, holding a 35-17 rebound advantage and taking 11 trips to the free throw line, compared to none for York.

In the second half, Duleba continued her great play for the Bearcats and reached the 1,000 career point plateau after a pair of free throws early in the second half.  She would finish the night with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.  Sheridan Taylor added 16 points and Alicea Ulmer finished with 13 points and ten boards for Baruch.

The Bearcats, who stand at 19-1 overall and 12-0 in CUNYAC play and received several top 25 votes this week, were just as tough in the second half and extended its lead to as many as 45 points.  Baruch shot 50 percent from the field on the night and scored 50 points in the paint.

York was led by Ishonda McFarland who returned following a two-game absence due to injury to score a team-leading 12 points. Danielle Dunn and Angelika Ruggiano each chipped in eight points.

York returns to action on Saturday when they travel to John Jay College at 4:00 p.m.
