ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. Two days removed from their tough loss to No. 15 Lebanon Valley that ended a seven-game winning streak, the Elizabethtown College women's basketball team got back in the win column on Monday night at Thompson Gymnasium. Taylor Santor, who transferred from York College (Pa.), had her best game in a Blue Jays uniform, dropping 21 points to lead E-town in their 80-53 victory over non-conference opponent Lancaster Bible College (14-4).

Santor, the game's high scorer, shot an efficient 8-for-11 from the floor, including 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. Leading comfortably for the duration of the game, Elizabethtown (10-8) was able to get their second unit players some extra run. In total, the Blue Jays bench outscored the Chargers 42-0. Rachel Forjan provided ten points and three assists, and Erika Ferro had her best game of the season, scoring seven points and grabbing six rebounds. Emily Young contributed two points and three rebounds. Every E-town player received playing time and scored at least two points in the contest.

Early on, it was the Blue Jays' defense that set the tone. They forced Lancaster Bible into five turnovers before the Chargers scored their first points of the game at the 12:58 mark of the first half. By that time, E-town had already built a 13-0 lead.

Elizabethtown went into the half up 42-19, limiting the Chargers to 6-for-28 (21.4%) from the floor. The Blue Jays ended the half shooting 45.5% (15-for-33).

Midway through the second half, with the game in hand, coach Sherri Gorman again went to her bench and allowed them to play out the rest of the game.

Taylor Alwine led the E-town starters with 14 points (7-for-8) and eight rebounds. Taylor Kreider posted ten points, four boards and four steals, while Kendra Beittel had eight points and three steals.

This marks the second game in which Elizabethtown has reached 80 points and the sixth game they've given up 60 or fewer points.

From here on, the women's basketball team will play out the rest of their Commonwealth Conference schedule, starting Wednesday, January 30, when they travel to face Arcadia. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Their next home contest is Wednesday, February 6, when Widener visits Thompson Gymnasium in a game with potential playoff implications. Game-time is 6 p.m.
