COUGARS FALL TO LIGHTNING 81-25 IN WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Bronx, NY- The Medgar Evers College Women'a Basketball team fell to the Lehman College Lightning 81-25 on Wednesday January 23, 2013 at Lehman College in the Bronx. The Lightning improved to 3-15 Overall and 3-6 CUNYAC while the Cougars dropped to 0-18 Overall and 0-9 CUNYAC.

The one thing that stood out for the Cougars was their defense. The Lighning committed 9 turnovers and 3 were due to do shot clock violations. The Cougars would make Lehman earned all their shots.

In the loss, Medgar Evers College was led by Nia Tompkins with 9pts. Tompkins also grabbed 5 rebounds. 

Lehman College in the win was, led by Keonti Powell with 37pts. Jennifer Navarro added 33pts. Navarro made 11 3pt. shots, which broke a CUNYAC single game record.

Medgar Evers College will be back in action on Friday January 25, 2013, when they play the City College Beavers. Game time will be 6pm at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn and will be sreamed live on http://ustream.tv/channel/mecathletics
