HAMBURG, NY - The Medaille women's basketball team got back on track less than 24 hours after a tough non-conference loss, with a (72-60) win at AMCC foe Hilbert College.  Senior Brittney Rowland had a career performance as she exploded for (33) points while shooting the ball at a (63.1%) clip, (12 for 19) overall .

The performance from Rowland helped a Medaille team that struggled from the field collectively, shooting just (35.5%) from the floor as a team.  Her hot shooting performance included a (5 for 10) effort from beyond the arc and a perfect (4 for 4) effort from the charity stripe.  One day after becoming the sixth player in program history to reach (1,000) career points, Joelle Pollak netted (18) points while dishing out (10) assists, pulling down (6) boards, and coming up with (3) steals.  Pollak moves up one spot on the all-time scoring list to 3rd place with (1,027) points.

Rookie Brittnee Perry continued her dominance on the glass as she pulled in a game high (17) rebounds, one off her career high.  It was the seventh time this season she gathered in ten or more rebounds and the sixth time in the past eight games.  The Lady Mavs dominated the glass in the win, out rebounding Hilbert (49-34) and (24-6) in offensive rebounds, Perry pulled down (8) offensive boards in the victory.

The Lady Mavs carried a (39-31) lead into the break and led by as many as (16) points late in the second half.  The Hawks did jump out to an early six point lead but Medaille was able to fight back and the teams would trade leads three times before the Lady Mavs grabbed the lead for good. Turnovers and second chance points played a big role in the Medaille win.  The Lady Mavs turned (16) Hilbert turnovers into (15) points and poured in (24) second chance points, most of which came as a result of their dominant performance on the offensive glass.

The win pushes Medaille to (12-6) overall and (10-1) in AMCC play.  The Lady Mavs will head to Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday (1/26) to face La Roche College in a game that will put the winner atop the AMCC standings.  That game has a 1:00pm tipoff.
