LC Women Score ODAC Win at Hollins 62-52

ROANOKE, VA – Sophomore forward Shannon Allan scored 24 points as the Lynchburg College women's basketball team posted a 62-52 victory Wednesday evening at Hollins University in an Old Dominion Athletic conference (ODAC) match-up.

Lynchburg led most of the first half by small margins, and finished the stanza with baskets from freshmen Sarah Tolliver and Sammi Goldsmith to enter halftime ahead 26-19.

Hollins trimmed the advantage to just two points after a three-pointer from Lacie Forrest with 13 minutes remaining. Fueled by seven points from Goldsmith, a 12-0 LC surge put the Hornets ahead 54-40 and they never looked back.

Goldsmith had nine of her 13 points in the second half, and sophomore Lauren Penley had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and added five assists. Junior guard Ann Dorris had a solid all-around game with six points, four rebounds and three assists.
