LaGRANGE, Ga. - Records fell as LaGrange rolled past Mary Baldwin 135-43 on Sunday in Mariotti Gymnasium. The win was the fifth straight for the Panthers, now 10-6 overall and 5-4 in the USA South.

Junior Caroline Brashier set a new school record with 43 points, eclipsing Jessica Brown's 42 set in 2001. She became the third Panther to score 40 or more points in a game. Brashier tied the school record held by Brown with 15 field goals in the game.

Brashier had a school and USA South record 12 3-pointers in the game, missing only four times from 3-point range . She had the second most in a game by any NCAA Division III player. The national record for 3-pointers in a game by an individual is 15.

Fellow junior Alex Wilson, who had held the previous record of 11 3s in a game, had nine 3-pointers of her own and finished with 31 points. The game was the first in the program's history where two players had 30 or more points in a game.

Brashier and Wilson helped the Panthers hit a record-setting 26 3s in the game. They tied the Division III mark set last season by LaVerne (Calif.) for a single game, while breaking team and conference records for 3s in a game.

The old team mark was 20 set twice and their own conference mark of 17 set earlier this season. The Panthers also set team and conference single-game marks with 42 3-point attempts.

With the two 3-pointers made by Mary Baldwin (0-16, 0-9 USA South), the two teams set a Division III single-game record with 28 3s in the game. The old mark was 27 set by Illinois Wesleyan and Fontbonne in 2007.

Freshman Raven Trammell broke the school record with 14 assists in her first start of the season. Trammell broke the old record of 11 in a game, set three times by Elizabeth Williams.

The 135 points was a new school record, breaking the 117 scored against Salem in 2011. It was the fourth highest total in a game by an Division III team. The 92-point margin of victory was the largest for the Panthers, breaking the mark of 78 set last season against Salem.

The 71 second half points broke the old mark of 66 in a half set against Salem in 2010 and tied the USA South record. It also tied for the fourth most points in a half by an Division III team. The Panthers' 46 field goals and 35 assists were also new single-game team records. The 61 rebounds in the game was a season-high for the Panthers and the sixth most in the program's history.

The Panthers play at Methodist and Greensboro next Saturday and Sunday in USA South games.
