Rams Earn Skyline Win over Dolphins

Farmingdale State - 61, Mount Saint Vincent - 54


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's basketball team earned a 61-54 victory over Mount Saint Vincent this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams improved to 6-7 overall and 4-2 in conference action, while the Dolphins fell to 5-10, 0-7.

Trailing 35-23 at halftime, a 7-2 Mount Saint Vincent run to start the second half cut the deficit to 37-30. Farmingdale State answered with a 17-5 run to open up a 20-point lead, 55-35, with 6:16 remaining. Mount Saint Vincent would cut the deficit to single-digits in the final minute of play, but the Rams picked up the seven point victory.

Junior forward Lushanta Savadel (Bellport, N.Y.) scored six points and had a season-high 16 rebounds for Farmingdale State. Senior guard Nikita Green (Roosevelt, N.Y.) had 17 points, while junior guard Nicky Young (Queens, N.Y.) added 15 points and eight boards.

The Dolphins were led by sophomore center Kelly Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) who scored a team-leading 17 points and junior guard Desiree Rosa (Dumont, N.J.) who pitched in with 15 points.

The Rams next will travel to Vassar for a non-conference game on Tuesday, January 22nd at 6:00 p.m.
