Turnovers Cost Beavers as Brooklyn Pulls Away from CCNY

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Kendra Rivers dished out a career-high seven assists in 34 minutes of action but the Bulldogs' defense forced 33 turnovers and led to 37 points as Brooklyn College (11-5, 6-2 CUNYAC) defeated the City College of New York (3-12, 3-5 CUNYAC), 73-40, on Saturday afternoon at the West Quad Center.

Rivers finished with eight points on 2-of-8 shooting with both of her field goals coming from three-point range. Syreeta Williams scored eight points and added team-high's in rebounds with nine and tied her season-high in steals with three. Bria Fisher led all Beavers with nine points on 3-of-4 shooting.

For the Bulldogs, Nicole Francomano posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 steals as the Brooklyn finished with 25 steals. The stingy defense led to 37 points off of turnovers as BC also finished with 34 points in the paint.

The Beavers return to Nat Holman Gymnasium to host John Jay College on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 12 p.m. Live stats will be available by clicking on the live stats link on the women's basketball schedule page.
