QUEENS, N.Y. – Freshman Jennifer Navarro sank a three-pointer with just two seconds to play, as the Lehman College women's basketball team defeated York College on Friday night, 52-49. Lehman went on a 23-3 run in the final six minutes of the game to overcome a 17-point deficit to take the win.

On the final play for Lehman, the Lightning (2-14, 2-6 CUNYAC) took possession after a York turnover and foul. Navarro (Jamaica, N.Y./Grover Cleveland) stepped back and, with several defenders draped all over her, drained her fifth trifecta of the game.

York (1-15, 1-7 CUNYAC) had one final possession, but did not manage one last shot.

Lehman trailed by 17 points with 6:41 to play, 46-29, before the rally started. Navarro would be the key to the final run, making four three-pointers during that final countdown, scoring a total of 13 points in the process.

For Navarro, this is the second consecutive game she has scored 18 points, and third time in her last four games.

Joining Navarro in double figures in scoring on the evening were junior guard Keonti Powell (Bronx, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) with 17, and senior guard Jasmin Castro-Lopez (Bronx, N.Y./Wings Academy) with 11. Powell had a double-double, adding a team-high 12 rebounds.

The Lightning will play next on Monday, January 21, hosting NYU-Polytechnic in a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day matinee. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
