PASADENA, CA – The La Verne women's basketball team converted on 19 shots from behind the arc en route to a 96-56 win over Caltech on Thursday evening.

The 19 made three-pointers is the second most any team in NCAA Division III has made this season. In November Louisiana College hit a season high 20.

More than half of La Verne's made field goals came from behind the three-point line. The Leopards made 13 shots from inside the arc.

The barrage of three-pointers began in the first half. La Verne converted on 12 of their 33 attempts from behind the arc (36.4 percent). The Leopards also forced Caltech into 20 turnovers in the opening frame which they converted into 29 points.

La Verne never trailed and led by as many as 35 points in the first 20 minutes of action before taking a 60-28 edge into the locker room.

The second half saw the Leopards convert on seven of their 30 shots from distance as they kept their lead to no fewer than 29 points in pulling away for the win.

The Leopards spread out the minutes between 18 different players. Every player who played for the visitors scored at least two points or grabbed two rebounds. The duo of Lindsay Foster and Kimmie Fung tied for team high honors with 11 points each.

Caltech was led in scoring by Stephanie Wong's game high 13 points. Esther Du came up just short of a double-double with a 12-point, nine-rebound evening. Kristen Anderson grabbed a game high and tied a personal best 12 rebounds.

The quick paced game produced a lot of rebounds as Caltech grabbed a season high 59 boards.
