GREENSBURG, PA - The Medaille College women's basketball team overcame a huge comeback and an overtime deficit to outlast AMCC foe Pitt-Greensburg (84-80) in overtime.  The Lady Mavs received a career best performance from Morgan Howe in the victory.

The Lady Mavs carried a five point (34-29) advantage into halftime and that lead would swell to fifteen points with (7:36) remaining in regulation.  However, a furious comeback fueled by Pitt-Greensburg's Emily Nelson, who finished with a game high (30) points, would completely wipe away that lead and send the game into overtime.  The Lady Mavs never trailed in regulation.

However, after scoring the first basket of overtime the Lady Mavs would see Greensburg knock down a three pointer to grab their first lead of the game at (73-72).  The Bobcats got a stop on the ensuing possession and hit a bucket to grab a three point edge.  The Lady Mavs would surge back and knock down 2 of their next 3 shots from the floor, while also being efficient enough at the charity stripe to pull out the victory.  They were (3 for 4) in the extra session.

The story of the game for Medaille was the play of sophomore Morgan Howe who posted career bests in points (23) and rebounds (19).  Her rebound productivity was also a game high and it saw her pull (13) of those off the offensive glass.  She also chipped in on the defensive end of the floor with a pair of blocked shots.

Senior guard Brittney Rowland was (6 for 11) from the floor and (2 for 3) from beyond the arc for a (17) point outing while rookie Brittnee Perry continued her strong play with a double/double consisting of (11) points and (12) rebounds.  Another career best was accomplished in the win as Emily Brophy set a career mark with a game high (10) assists to guide the Medaille offense.

The Lady Mavs relied heavily on their starters in the scoring ledger as only five points came from their bench players.  However, the Lady Mavs ability to dominate the paint was the difference in the game.  Medaille outscored Pitt-Greensburg (46-26) in the lane while also outrebounding the Bobcats (56-45) in the game.

The win is the second straight for Medaille and it moves them to (7-5) overall and (5-1) in AMCC play.  They will get back to work on Wednesday (1/9) when they head across town to take on D'Youville College at 6:00pm on the Spartans home floor.
