HANCOCK, Mich. -- Three Alverno College players scored in double-figures as the Inferno led nearly the entire game in a 67-55 nonconference victory over host Finlandia University on Saturday evening in the Paavo Nurmi Center.
Kristen Speerschneider led all scorers with a game-high 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting while Jamie Hoernke scored 13 and Kayla Kennedy added 11 for the Inferno (5-4).

Early in the second half, Alverno took its largest lead of the game, 49-31, on a Devon Gorman free throw, but the Lions (3-6) climbed back within eight with an 11-1 run.
At the 6:30 mark, Finlandia cut the lead to just six, 57-51, but the Inferno defense held the hosts to just four points the reminder of the game to secure the victory.
Adrianna Osuna got 10 points to lead the Lions, while Kaylin Rajala tied for a game-high 11 rebounds.
Alverno completes its six-game road swing with another nonconference contest at Northland College tomorrow at 2 p.m.
