BUFFALO, NY--The Medaille College women's basketball team hosted the Penn State-Behrend Lions Thursday night and finished with a commanding (69-51) win. This marks the third conference win for the Lady Mavs this season.

The Lady Mavs controlled most of the game, especially in the first half. In the opening half, they shot (54.8%) from the field, including a blazing (75.0%) from behind the three point line. While controlling the offensive tempo, they also played tough defense to prevent the Lions from keeping up. The Lions hit on only (33.3%) of their shots in the first half and only (10.0%) of their free throws. The Lady Mavs took a 42-24 lead into halftime.

The second half was more even as both teams scored 27 points a piece, but the Lady Mavs defense continued to play strong forcing (17) turnovers for the Lions. The Mavs also controlled the glass as they outrebounded the Lions 41-30 including 17-12 on the offensive glass.

The Lady Mavs were led by Joelle Pollak who finished the game with (25) points on 10-19 shooting. She found her spot behind the 3-point line as she finished 5-8 from behind the line, good for (62.5). Pollak also tallied (10) total rebounds, including seven on the offensive glass.
Her (25) point outburst moves her into 10th place on the program's all-time scoring list with (863) points.

Brittnee Perry also was a major contributor to the victory adding (11) points and chipping in (9) total rebounds. Perry helped the Mavs with second chance points as she finished with six offensive rebounds.

The Lady Mavs (5-4) will take time off for the holiday break before hitting the road on a three game roadtrip before returning home to play Franciscan University January 12 at 1 p.m.
