DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Haverford College scored the final seven points of the game to give the Ford a 64-58, non-conference victory over host Delaware Valley College.

The Aggies (2-6) were down 54-49 with 3:07 remaining when they scored nine of the next 12 to take a one-point lead. Freshman guard Bridget Sobon ended the spurt with a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 67 seconds remaining.

However, it was Haverford from there, beginning with a pair of Calla Miller free throws with 45 ticks left after she was fouled while shooting a long jumper. Delaware Valley's Emily Soper missed a layup inside and Jacquelyne Pizzuto was fouled with 31 seconds to go. She calmly hit both ends of a 1-in-1 to give the Fords a three-point lead. After an Aggie timeout, Eierann Anastasi missed a long 3-point attempt and Pizzuto went back to the line. She sank one of two to make it a two-possession game. Delaware Valley turned the ball over and Pizzuto hit two more free throws for the 54-48 final.

The Fords led by as many as nine in the first half, before a late Aggie run cut that advantage down to one, 31-30, at the break. Haverford built its lead back up to five on three different occasions in the second half, including the last one as the clock ticked near the three-minute mark. That led to the Delaware Valley spurt and the Ford response for the win.

Pizzuto finished with 16 points and four assists while Rachel Baskin dropped in 12 points. Elizabeth Lynch added 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

Brenna Coll followed up her career-high 27-point performance from Monday evening with a 21-point effort. The sophomore also added six rebounds and three assists. Sobon and Soper finished with 10 points apiece while Shannon Barlow recorded nine points and 11 boards.
