Medaille Women Fall to La Roche in AMCC Play

BUFFALO, NY--The women's basketball team lost a hard fought AMCC game to La Roche College Saturday in a (73-64) contest. This loss snapped the Lady Mavs four game win streak and also ended their undefeated record in AMCC conference play.

This game was a tale of two halves for the Lady Mavs even though the score didn't always show it. In the first half, they controlled the tempo on offense and forced La Roche into tough shots. During the half, they connected on 48.3% of their shots and hit on 45.5% of their three pointers while La Roche only managed to connect on 35.3% percent of their shots in the first half. Although, the halftime score only had the Lady Mavs up 35-32.

The second half was a different story. La Roche totaled 41 second half points and hit on 58.6% of their shots while the Lady Mavs could only shoot 31.8% in the second half and connect on 16.7% of their three pointers. In the second half, the Lady Mavs managed only 29 points. Although, they did edge La Roche in free throws, connecting on 14 of 19 free throws in the half.

Leading the Lady Mavs was Joelle Pollak who totaled (20) points and (9) total rebounds. Also contributing was Brittnee Perry who added (12) points and (7) total rebounds.

The Lady Mavs (4-3) travel to Ithaca College on Monday to play the Bombers before returning home to play rival Penn State-Behrend Thursday at 6 p.m.
