STATEN ISLAND, NY.— The York College women's basketball team's effort against the College of Staten Island Dolphins wasn't enough as they went down, 76-41 at the CSI Recreation Center on Tuesday night.

Senior guard Ishonda McFarland's toughness and ability to push the ball up the court early gave York its only sign of energy in the first half.  She finished with 12 points, eight rebounds, and four steals. Sophomore center Stayce Kay Muirhead had another double-double for the Cardinals, with 11 points and 12 rebounds. York struggled from the field all night, shooting 30% from the field (18% in 1st half). Junior guard Shadaeya Greene played strong defense all game adding six steals, four assists, and five points.

The Dolphins capitalized on every missed opportunity York had. Senior Olivia Tierno had a game high 18 points while also adding five steals and three assists. CSI (1-3) shot 42% from the field and 38% from 3-point range.

The ladies at York (0-5) return to the hardwood on December 1st at 5 pm when they travel to take on St. Josephs's College (Brooklyn).
