GALLOWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson women's basketball team (3-3, 1-2 NJAC) could not hold off host Richard Stockton (2-1, 1-1 NJAC) during the second half, resulting in a 73-60 loss Dec. 1.

Senior guard Lindsey Callander (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) later capped a mini 5-0 Pioneer run with a fast-break layup, nudging William Paterson ahead by one at 49-48 with 10:40 to play, but Stockton answered with a pair of free throws during its next possession (50-49, 10:23).
Junior forward Dana Jeter (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert) made one of two free throws and followed that with a short jumper (52-50, 8:44) before the Ospreys tied the score with a bucket 37 seconds later. The two teams found themselves later tied at 54-54 with 6:57 on the clock, but Richard Stockton took control with an 8-0 burst (62-54, 5:13), and when Callander made a pair from the charity stripe to pull WP within one possession at 62-59 with 4:28 to play, Stockton responded by scoring 11 of the game's final 12 points, forcing five Pioneer misses and four turnovers down the stretch.
