Baruch Runs Past John Jay (75-36), Sheridan Taylor Grabs Career-High 17 Rebounds

Eight different players scored at least seven points to lead the Baruch College Bearcats to a 75-46 CUNYAC road victory over the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Saturday afternoon at the Doghouse.

The Bloodhounds (2-3, 1-1 CUNYAC) scored the first basket in the opening minute for their only lead of the fast-paced game.

The visiting Bearcats (4-0, 2-0 CUNYAC) led the remaining 39 minutes by building a 19 point (42-23) halftime lead. They were up by as much as 31 points three different times in the second half en route to their second CUNYAC victory.


Lynda Fieldswas the only player to reach double-figure scoring with a career-high 12 points, four assists and two steals. Jessica Duleba(six rebounds, four assists) and Jasmine Smarr(4-5 fg) finished with nine points each.

Sheridan Taylorgrabbed 17 total rebounds, including 13 in the first half. Francess Henrycontributed five assists and rebounds each.  

The Bearcats shot 48 percent (30-63) and used their defensive pressure to limit the Bloodhounds to 27 percent shooting (17-64).

Former Bearcat Victoria Story led the Bloodhounds with 15 points and four rebounds.

The Bearcats will return to action on Friday, December 7, with their home opener against CCNY. Tip-off for the home CUNYAC contest in the ARC Arena is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
