OLIVET, MICH. – Manchester University resumed its current five-game road trip with visit to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association member Olivet Saturday, Nov. 24.

The Spartans, despite falling to 0-4 with a 51-28 loss, kept it close with the Comets (2-1) throughout much of the first half. Coach Josh Dzurick's squad trailed by just six (16-10) with just over six minutes to go before the home side closed the frame with a 7-2 run.

Freshman guard Hannah Field (Fort Wayne, Ind.) tallied a team-high nine points, blocked an Olivet shot attempt and picked up two steals. Sophomore center Alyssa Hammond (Osgood, Ind.) and sophomore forward Abby Lang (Indianapolis, Ind.) each pulled down eight rebounds for the Spartans and also recorded a blocked shot apiece. Hammond and freshman Katie Arterburn (Indianapolis, Ind.) each ended with six points, and Arterburn earned a team-best three steals.

Manchester moves into 2012-13 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a trip to Hanover College Saturday, Dec. 1. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
