– The Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team won its second-straight season-opening tournament as the Ducks walked all over Bay Path College in an 83-39 win. Four players were in double figures for Stevens and the Ducks out-rebounded the Wildcats 60-37.

Freshman Dylan Krause (Atlanta, Ga.) led the team with 14 points on the way to winning the tournament's Most Valuable Player award. Avis Benjamin (Queens, N.Y.) also grabbed a spot on the all-tournament team with her 11 points and nine rebounds on Saturday.

Maggie Kowalska (Edison, N.J.) and Cassie Nicholas (Sicklerville, N.J.) had 10 points apiece and freshmen Megan Petuskey (Mays Landing, N.J.) and Miranda Ripken (Fallston, Md.) had nine and eight, respectively.

Rounding out the Duck scorers were juniors Molly Spadaro (Sewell, N.J.) and Jen Thompson (Linwood, N.J.) (six each), Justine Webster (Colonia, N.J.) (five) and Courtney Lee (Brookville, Md.) (four).

Stevens hit the first two buckets of the game and never lost the lead again. The Ducks netted 22 of the first 25 points in a matchup that was never close. The Hobokenites stole the ball 18 times and forced a total of 24 Wildcat turnovers.

All 10 players who suited up for the Ducks earned at least 13 minutes on the floor…Stevens held the Wildcats to 25 percent shooting…Kayla Skiffington (East Longmeadow, Mass.) was the lone bright spot for Bay Path, and led all scorers with 15 points.

Stevens will be back in action on Tuesday when the Ducks visit the College of Staten Island at 6 p.m.
