DECATUR, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team shocked No. 1 Calvin College with an 84-63 win Saturday in a rematch of last season's NCAA Division III Tournament second-round contest.

No. 7 UWSP claimed an early 7-5 lead when Liz Althoff (Darien, WI/Clinton) connected on a three pointer, and the Pointers held on to the lead
for the rest of the game.
The Pointers' lead reached as high as 29 points with six minutes left in the second half.
Preseason All-American Sam Barber (Schofield, WI/D.C. Everest/Winona St.) led all scorers with 26 points while finishing 10-for-15 from the floor.
Althoff added 16 points for UWSP and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
UWSP shot 53 percent from the floor while connecting on 8-of-12 three-pointers.
The Pointers' defense held Calvin to 43 percent from the floor and forced 19 turnovers.
UWSP returns to action Tuesday, Nov. 20 for its home-opener against Marian. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
