BETHLEHEM, PA - The Medaille College women's basketball team accomplished something no other Medaille team had ever done before, win an ECAC Championship.  They did so on the backs of a trio of Lady Mavs as they outlasted host and 2nd seeded Moravian College (77-68) this afternoon in Bethlehem, PA.

Senior Tanisha Travis finished out her stellar Medaille career with another command performance as she poured in (21) points, posted game highs in rebounds and blocks with (17) and (5) respectively while also dishing out three assists.  For her efforts over a two day span she was named the Tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

Having a career day in the final game of her rookie year was Alicia Montalvo who equaled the offensive output of Travis by netting a career high (21) points.  She was hitting shots with deadly accuracy as she went (7 for 12) from the field, (4 for 5) from behind the arc while knocking down all three of her attempts from the charity stripe.

Rounding out the triumvirate was Joelle Pollak who dropped in (20) points while also drilling home four long range shots.  Senior Meghan Dougherty wrapped her career with (7) points, (5) rebounds and matched a team best with four assists.  Junior Brittney Rowland also dished out four dimes in the victory.

The host team dominated in the paint, scored more points off turnovers, and received more scoring from the bench than Medaille.  However, the Lady Mavs held the advantage in the most important area, they knocked down (45.6%) of their shots from the field to just (34.8%) by Moravian.  The Lady Mavs were even more impressive from beyond the arc as they connected on (52.9%) of those shots while they also won the battle of the glass, outrebounding Moravian (46-38).  The Lady Mavs led by as many as (16) points and held a nine point edge at the intermission.

The win ends Medaille's season with an impressive (24-5) mark.  They ended the season winning 15 of their final 16 games en route to their ECAC Title run.
