ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY (February 14, 2012) – The Vassar College women's basketball team got production from its entire roster, especially its bench which accounted for 32 points, in registering a 79-36 victory over Bard College on Tuesday evening in Liberty League play.

Ten of 13 Vassar players broke into the scoring column, highlighted by strong contribution from its bench which outscored an under-manned Bard team 32-0. The host Raptors played a tough first half, trailing only 27-17 at halftime. Vassar erupted for 52 second half points for the comfortable victory.

The Brewers improve to 14-9, 8-6 in the Liberty League. Bard drops to 1-22, 1-14. Vassar returns to the Athletics & Fitness Center this Friday for a 6:00 p.m. game against Rochester Institute of Technology. On Friday, Bard hosts William Smith at 6:00 p.m.

With less than five minutes to play in the first half, Bard only trailed 23-17 and trailed by 10 points at intermission.
Vassar, which shot just 32 percent in the first half, shot 58 percent in the second half, largely due to 28 of its 52 second half points being scored in the paint.

Just five minutes into the second half, the Brewers went on a game-altering run that saw sophomore forward Hannah Senftleber score on two straight possessions, followed by baskets from freshman sophomore Nyah Berg, sophomore guard Cydni Matsuoka, freshman forward Colleen O'Connell and freshman guard Allyson Pemberton. When senior forward Kristyn Tempora hit a 3-pointer at the 9:52 mark, the Brewers led 57-25 and cruised to the 79-36 victory.

Senior guard Brittany Parks led Vassar with 14 points. She needs 22 more points in her final regular season games to become the school's all-time leading scorer. Senftleber had 11 points and Matsuoka earned 10 points with nine assists. O'Connell had 10 rebounds for the Brewers.

Bard got a 14 point performance on 7-of-10 shooting from junior guard Imani Jones.
