Albany, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State women's basketball team posted a 68-46 win over The Sage Colleges to improve to 13-7 overall and 12-1 in the conference, which puts them atop the league standings heading into the final week of the regular-season. Sage drops to 8-15 overall and 4-9 in the league.

Junior guard Baytania Newman (Brooklyn, N.Y.) netted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Rams. She added six assists with four steals to pace the team as they held a 33-17 lead at the break. Rookie guard Christina Merrill (Levittown, N.Y.) added 11 points, while junior guard Jeanette Zubizarreta (Bay Shore, N.Y.) added 10 points.

Senior guard Sarah Carciobolo (Niskayuna, N.Y.) led the Gators in the loss with 11 points. Junior guard Carly Vallee (East Greenbush, N.Y.) tallied nine points. Rookie forward Amie Jefferson (Albany, N.Y.) finished with eight points and six rebounds with one block. 

The Rams will now host Hunter College in a non-conference match-up on Tuesday, February 14th at 7:00 p.m.
